Multiplayer Help For Mw2

Tips/Tricks

Your most versatile and important custom class will be an assault class. Our current preferred rifle is the SCAR-H with a holographic sight. As a secondary we take the SPAS-12 shotgun - you can use a machine pistol if you like, or a missile launcher for taking down helis, but in our opinion, the SPAS is tough to beat, especially once you unlock the accuracy-increasing grip attachment.

Above: The SPAS-12 is handy in situations like these, though pistols also work

The SCAR-H devours ammo pretty quickly, so Slight of Hand is a must-have. The other perks we favor are Stopping Power and Commando (longer melee range) – which equates to fewer bullets expended and easier knife kills. Before you unlock the SCAR, however, the FAMAS is your best bet. Its three round bursts deliver a lot of damage and are very accurate. Even with the continuously firing SCAR, you’ll want to tap the trigger in bursts when dealing with long-range opponents.

The general strategy when playing free-for-all or team deathmatch is to stay in motion, or at least check your back as often as possible. There’s nothing wrong with squeezing up against a bit of cover near an enemy choke point and camping for a while, but you’re bound to be flanked eventually. Find a rhythm that works – generally you can stake out a bit of territory that is “yours,” and run back and forth defending it. For a better idea, watch this 11 kill streak we scored in a free-for-all match on Rust:

Above: Sniping is a gentleman’s game, none of this frivolous bullet spraying!

Tactical Insertion is likewise a wonderful tool, and it’s unlocked pretty early. If you haven’t played with it yet, TI is a flare which sets your next respawn point. Once you die and respawn on your flare, you have to drop another (it only lasts one death). The brilliant thing is that you can hide your flare near your stakeout and absolutely own a piece of the map. Snipe without fear of being shot from behind, because when you inevitably are, all you need to do is wait a few seconds, respawn, and knife or shotgun the invader. Then set another TI and go back to sniping. This technique is especially effective on Afghan, where there are lots of nice bunkers and lookout points. It also works well in Estate – note where we leave the flare in the video below, that’s a great spot…and then note us owning with the SPAS-12, picking off a few guys with the 50-cal, and calling in an AC-130.

Modern Warfare Article/In Depth

It clearly seeks to emulate its predecessor as well, which succeeded in a piecemeal but driven narrative. But nothing in the sequel quite lives up to the audacity of Modern Warfare's public execution or mid-game mushroom cloud, nor do we get anything as eerily game-defining as the Chernobyl sequence.

The new game's infamous "No Russian" level, involving a terrorist attack at an airport, comes closest to being a disturbing showpiece, but even there the deliberate killing of civilians seems a limited attempt at controversy. And the level sets up a villain only to shove him aside in favor of confusing betrayals and an obligatory cliffhanger as the game hits the eight-hour mark.

Underscoring the brevity of the single-player mode, most of the big action scenes are available in a "Special Ops" mode that lets you replay with a friend. It's a smart way to revisit the best parts of the game in five-minute chunks.

But it's in the full multiplayer mode where people will get the most mileage anyway. While it's still tough to break into, the game does offer some incentives to try, try again. For example, pull off a kill after a long streak of deaths and get an extra 200 points.

Even a few rounds of play lets you level up, and there's a slew of new ways to customize special abilities or weapon classes to your liking. You'll still end up dying, but there's plenty of time to try different strategies as we march toward the inevitable release of Modern Warfare 3.

The sequel to the best-selling first-person action game of all time, Modern Warfare 2 continues the gripping and heart-racing action as players face off against a new threat dedicated to bringing the world to the brink of collapse. The newest installment in the groundbreaking Call of Duty® series, Modern Warfare 2 features for the first time in video games, the musical soundtrack of legendary Academy Award®, Golden Globe® Award, Grammy® Award and Tony winning composer Hans Zimmer. The title picks up immediately following the historic events of Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare®, the blockbuster title that earned worldwide critical acclaim, including 14 million copies sold worldwide; "Most Played Online Video Game" in history, 2009 Guinness World Records; more than 50 Game of the Year awards, including the Console Game of the Year and Overall Game of the Year, 2007, from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.

Mw2 Review

All the fans of Modern Warfare 2 across the world should be able to play the game now with a little less lag now. This is possible because a new fix has been applied to the matchmaking system of MW2.
New fix for matchmaking system in Modern Warfare 2
However, this does not mean that you will log on and see anything fundamentally different in your gaming experience, but if you are facing any such problem then this update to the process will be helping you a bit.

According to Microsoft in a blog post of Xbox Live says, “When you search for a match, our servers sort through the many thousands of available matches to find the ‘best’ potential games for you.”

It is also added there, “We’ve changed how we determine ‘best,’ and your country is now an even more significant factor than it was before.”

By now the international lag issues entirely won’t be eliminated, but may be the fix doing good job and the game may be good and swift.

“If you live somewhere that’s geographically isolated – like Australia, for example – most of the world is not near you,” the post states. “On behalf of that Australian gamer we’re now trying harder than ever to find a session in their country for them to join. Of course, this requires there to be games hosted in Australia with open slots at the moment they’re looking – but we’ve maximized the odds of those gamers getting together.”

ModernWarfare2 Map Pack

Activision has announced that two map packs will be released for Modern Warfare 2. At E3 Microsoft stated that these map packs would first be made available for the Xbox 360/Xbox Live before they would be released for other platformsRobert Bowling has stated that the community response to the game and the first two downloadable map packs would be used in designing other potential map packs.

The first map pack, the Stimulus Package, was released on Xbox Live on March 30, 2010 and will be released on Playstation3 on May 4 for North America and May 5 for Europe. At a cost of fifteen dollars. The pack contains five maps: reincarnations of the Crash and Overgrown maps from Call of Duty 4, and three new maps: Bailout, a multi-level apartment complex; Storm, an industrial park littered with heavy machinery; and Salvage, an abandoned car junkyard in the middle of the snow.Within 24 hours of its release, it was downloaded over one million times. Within the first week it had been downloaded 2.5 million times, breaking Xbox Live DLC records. The Stimulus Pack, unlike previous Call of Duty map packs, does not integrate the maps into all game types. Instead the Simulus Pack adds two new game modes, randomizing the built-in game types in either normal or hardcore mode.
